[12-06-2020] San Diego County, CA – Hit-and-Run Crash at Colina Del Sol Injures Disabled Man

A 73-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was seriously hurt after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver at an intersection at Colina Del Sol on Sunday night, December 6.

The accident took place at the intersection of El Cajon Boulevard and Altadena Avenue, just east of Interstate 15, around 9:55 p.m. The pedestrian was reportedly attempting to cross El Cajon Boulevard in an unmarked crosswalk when he was suddenly hit by a passing vehicle.

The victim sustained severe injuries from the accident. He was rushed to an area hospital with fractures to the tibia and fibula in one of his legs. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene until the paramedics arrived.

However, he did not wait for the authorities and fled the scene. Information about the suspect’s physical appearance and the type of vehicle he was driving has not been disclosed.
