[10-06-2021] San Diego County, CA – Older Man Injured After a Pedestrian Crash in Rolando

An unidentified 70-year-old man was killed after a fatal pedestrian crash in Rolando on Wednesday morning, October 6.

The deadly collision transpired at approximately 11:15 a.m. on El Cajon Boulevard near 73rd Street in Rolando.

The older man attempted to cross El Cajon Boulevard against a red do-not-cross sign when he was struck by a passing vehicle that made a left turn from 73rd onto El Cajon Boulevard.

The female driver that struck the older man was driving at a green light. She remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The older man was rushed to an area hospital with several broken bones.  He sustained injuries to his upper justify arm and two broken bones in his lower left leg.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factored in the collision. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
