An unidentified man was seriously injured after a fiery two-vehicle collision in Escondido on Monday night, May 24.

Two unspecified vehicles collided at the intersection for unclear reasons. One of the vehicles then continued driving on the road and later struck a heavy-duty truck.

Due to the severity of the impact, one car caught fire, and the driver was partially ejected from the vehicle.

One of the drivers was extricated from the wreckage. He was then rushed to Palomar Medical Center and was listed in critical condition. Local authorities are further investigating the case.
