One unidentified person was killed after a deadly pedestrian crash in National City on early Thursday morning, August 26.

The pedestrian was reportedly struck by multiple vehicles in the fast lane for unclear reasons. The circumstances leading up to the accident have not been established.

The unidentified pedestrian sustained fatal injuries in the accident. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Three northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed down to give way for the investigation.
