An unidentified 20-year-old male pedestrian sustained significant injuries after getting struck by a DUI driver in Spring Valley on Friday morning, December 4.
The crash transpired at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Gillespie Drive in Spring Valley. The victim was reportedly walking towards a road construction site to deliver equipment when a 2020 Ford Fiesta suddenly struck him.
The Ford was initially traveling northbound on Gillespie Drive when it swerved into the shoulder of the roadway before hitting the man. The victim sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident. He was rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The Ford driver was later identified as 56-year-old Dana Marie Gobble. She was charged on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
