[05-28-2021] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After a Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Fallbrook

One unidentified pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a hit-and-run driver on an interstate near Fallbrook on Friday morning, May 28.

The fatal accident took place on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 near Old Highway 395 near Fallbrook. A southbound white semi-truck struck the pedestrian on Interstate 15 for unclear reasons.

The driver did not stop to offer help and fled the scene. Emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and found the victim lying on the right side of the interstate.

Despite the emergency personnel’s life-saving efforts, the victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed.

Authorities suspect that the truck may have sustained major damage on its right side following the mishap. The suspect’s identity and whereabouts are currently unknown.

Local authorities are actively pursuing the hit-and-run driver. Witnesses that can provide additional information about the accident are encouraged to contact the CHP Oceanside Area Investigations Unit at 760-643-3400.
