[11-24-2020] San Diego County, CA – Teenager Killed in a Fatal Crash on Barona Mesa Road

A 14-year-old boy identified as Logan Krapf was killed after getting hit by a pickup in the San Diego Country Estates neighborhood on Tuesday night, November 24.

The deadly accident occurred at around 7:20 p.m. on Barona Mesa Road in the San Diego Country Estates neighborhood southeast of Ramona.

Two boys on skateboards and one boy riding a bicycle were reportedly traveling together eastbound on the roadway when a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup truck driving hit one of the boys.

The pickup driver was initially attempting to take a left-hand curve in the road, but the front of his pickup truck hit Logan, who was riding his skateboard in the middle of the eastbound traffic lane.

Despite the paramedics’ life-saving measures, Logan succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the accident.

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the case.
