Fatal Pedestrian Accident Statistics

Pedestrians are more exposed to the dangers on the road compared to passengers of private vehicles and motorcycle riders. The answer is obvious. It’s because pedestrians do not have any form of protection in case a traffic accident suddenly occurs.

The best way to avoid a pedestrian accident is to stay alert. Always look before crossing the road. Unfortunately, no matter how careful you are, pedestrian accidents can still happen due to negligent drivers.

According to the Governors Highway Safety Association, pedestrian fatalities in the U.S. have increased by 27 percent from 2007-2016, while other traffic-related deaths decreased by 14 percent.
