[10-26-2021] San Mateo County, CA – Pedestrian Injured After a DUI Crash in San Carlos

One unidentified person was injured after a pedestrian crash involving a DUI driver in San Carlos on Tuesday afternoon, October 26.

According to the initial reports from local authorities, the crash transpired at around 1:30 p.m. on Industrial and Bransten roads. The victim was walking at the intersection in a marked crosswalk when he was suddenly struck by a white pickup truck.

The vehicle reportedly accelerated and made a left turn at the intersection before the crash. The pedestrian sustained significant injuries in the crash, including multiple broken bones and fractures. The victim was then rushed to an area hospital for treatment.

The driver that struck the pedestrian was under the influence at the time of the accident. He was arrested on DUI-related charges.
