A fatal head-on collision on Highway 154 left one person seriously injured after a speeding driver struck her vehicle on Tuesday, May 19th.
According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 5:40 p.m. on Highway 154, east of the Cachuma Lake entrance in Santa Barbara.
The speeding driver was identified as a 21-year-old man named Daniel Anthony Andrade. He was heading eastbound on Highway 154 at a dangerous speed. His Honda later crossed the double yellow lines east of the entrance to Cachuma Lake and collided head-on with a Ford.
The 40-year-old woman driving the Ford sustained severe injuries from the crash. In Santa Barbara, she was immediately transported to the Cottage Hospital to be treated for her injuries on her head, chest, and legs.
The speeding driver was also taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.
