[05-15-2020] Santa Barbara, CA – One Person Injured After a Bicycle Accident in Isla Vista

One unidentified person sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Isla Vista on Friday night, May 15th.

According to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 9 p.m. in the 800 block of Camino Del Sur. The victim was riding his bicycle out of a driveway when he was suddenly hit by a car heading north on Camino Del Sur.

The driver that hit the bicyclist remained at the scene and cooperated with the local authorities.

The cyclist was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for his broken leg. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
