Two people were killed after an alleged DUI accident in Goleta on Tuesday night, October 26.

[10-26-2021] Santa Barbara County, CA - Two People Killed After a Fatal DUI Crash in GoletaThe deadly crash happened in the area of Cathedral Oaks Road and Camino Cascada in Goleta at around 7:30 p.m. An eastbound 2016 Toyota 4-Runner was traveling at high speeds on Cathedral Oaks and rear-ended a 2002 Ford Mustang.

Due to the severity of the impact, the Ford Mustang then began to spin and hit two parked vehicles on the south curb of Cathedral Oaks. Both the driver and the passenger of the Ford Mustang were pronounced dead at the scene. They were identified as 40-year-old Gilberto Arteage G. and 45-year-old Silvia V.

Authorities later determined that the Toyota driver was under the influence at the time of the accident. The Toyota driver was identified as 31-year-old Andrew Raymond B. and was taken to Cottage Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for murder and DUI charges. The case is currently under further investigation.
