[06-22-2021] Santa Barbara County, CA – One Person Killed After a Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Lompoc

A 26-year-old man was killed after a motorcycle collision near La Purisima Mission on Tuesday afternoon, June 22.

The fatal accident happened near the intersection of Purisima Road and Mission Gate Road in Lompoc at around 2:50 p.m. The 25-year-old man was heading eastbound on his Kawasaki motorcycle. Meanwhile, a 2017 Volkswagen was driving northbound on Mission Gate Road.

The Volkswagen then made a left turn on the westbound lane of Purisima Road. The rider was ejected from his motorcycle for unclear reasons and hit the front of the Volkswagen. Emergency personnel later arrived at the scene and found the motorcycle rider lying on the roadway with serious injuries. The motorcyclist was unfortunately later pronounced dead.

The Volkswagen driver was uninjured from the collision. He remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Drugs and alcohol were not seen as factors in the accident.
