[07-14-2021] Santa Clara County, CA – Two people Injured After a Pedestrian Accident in Mountain View

Two people were hurt after getting struck by a passing vehicle in Mountain View on Wednesday night, July 14.

The accident happened at the intersection of National Avenue and South 43rd Street, west of Interstate 805 in Mountain View, at around 9:20 p.m. A man and a woman were crossing National Avenue north on a pedestrian crossing when a 2016 Jeep SUV turning left suddenly struck them.

The woman was seriously injured in the crash. She sustained a skull fracture and cerebral hemorrhage. She was immediately taken to an area hospital for treatment. The man sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.

The driver that struck the two pedestrians remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities. It was unclear whether he was also injured in the accident. The accident is currently under investigation. Authorities will attempt to determine the factors and the liability in the accident.
