[12-30-2020] Santa Clara County, CA – Young Girl Killed After a Deadly Pedestrian Crash in Monterey Highway

A young girl was tragically killed due to a deadly pedestrian crash involving a truck on Monterey Highway on Wednesday afternoon, December 30.

The accident transpired at approximately 1:45 p.m. in the 3600 block of Monterey Highway in the Rancho neighborhood. A car carrier was initially unloading vehicles at the dealership. While the driver was attempting to move a truck out of a trailer, the young girl reportedly jumped directly in front of the truck.

It was unclear why the young girl suddenly jumped in front of the truck. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. The girl was then hit by the truck as it rolled forward. She sustained severe injuries due to the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident Investigation is Underway

The Santa Clara police department is currently investigating the case. They will attempt to determine the factors and liability in the accident.
