One person was killed while two other people were injured after a fatal wrong-way collision near Klamath River Bridge on Monday afternoon, September 13.
The fatal accident happened on Interstate 5 northbound on the Klamath River Bridge at approximately 12:30 p.m. A dark grey 2012 Maserati sedan was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes for unclear reasons. The dark grey sedan then collided head-on with an oncoming northbound 2016 Ford F-250.
The Ford driver reportedly saw the Maserati and attempted to avoid it by swerving into the adjacent lane. Unfortunately, the Maserati driver also swerved in the same direction; the two vehicles then collided head-on. The Maserati driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, two people inside the Ford sustained major injuries in the mishap and were taken to an area hospital for treatment. The accident is currently under further investigation.
