One person was killed while another was seriously injured after a deadly multi-vehicle collision in Vacaville on early Thursday morning, August 12.

A Toyota Camry reportedly swerved into the center median for unclear reasons. The Camry then went back into the roadway where it collided with a Hyundai Ioniq.

The Toyota Camry was then struck by a Honda Civic, a Volkswagen, and a GMC Sierra. The circumstances leading up to the collision have not been established. The Toyota driver was ejected from her vehicle and was killed in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been disclosed.

The driver of the Hyundai Ioniq was later identified as 71-year-old Harold S. He, along with the Volkswagen driver, was both transported to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center with minor injuries. It’s unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision. The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the case.
