[11-24-2020] Sonoma County, CA – One Person Killed After a Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Verano Avenue

A 78-year-old man identified as Raymond Carillo was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in Sonoma on Tuesday morning, November 24.

The deadly pedestrian accident took place on Verano Avenue and Main Street, just west of Highway 12, at approximately 6:22 a.m.

The victim was reportedly crossing Verano Avenue in a marked crosswalk when an eastbound 2012 Honda suddenly struck him. The 78-year-old pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries from the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda was identified as 26-year-old Alejandro Arellano. He remained at the scene and cooperated with local authorities. Drugs and alcohol were not considered as factors in the accident.
