A pickup truck driver was killed after his vehicle was struck by a big rig in rural Sonoma County on Monday morning, August 24.

The big rig driver failed to notice the red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and a Subaru Outback were preparing to turn left from southbound Highway 121 to eastbound Highway 37.

The big rig was unable to stop in time and failed to avoid the two vehicles. The Subaru spun into the lanes of Highway 37 due to the severity of the impact. The pickup truck sustained significant front-end damage in the collision. The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
