Fatal Head-On Crash Statistics

Car accidents can happen at any time and for any reason. There are still problems on California’s roads, despite people having been trained and safety programs have been implemented. Driver negligence has increased dramatically in recent years, which is cause for concern.

Car accidents are a common occurrence across the country. Unfortunately, they are too common that a car accident occurs somewhere in the United States every sixty seconds.

An estimated 5 million car accidents occur each year in the United States. Annually, approximately 38,000 people lose their lives in traffic accidents. Even though head-on collisions account for only 2% of all accidents, they are responsible for 10% of all road fatalities in the United States.

A head-on collision occurs when two cars are traveling in opposite directions and collide directly. These collisions, even at low speeds, can result in serious injuries or even death. One of the most lethal types of car accidents is a head-on collision. Drunk driving, distracted driving, inexperience, and mechanical failure can all result in head-on collisions.
