A 78-year-old man identified as George John P. was killed while several others were injured after a major two-vehicle traffic collision in Oakdale on Tuesday night, May 18.

A southbound Chevrolet Silverado struck a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 78-year-old man.

The Silverado was reportedly traveling southbound on Orange Blossom Road when, for unclear reasons, it veered onto the northbound lanes and collided head-on with the Chevrolet Tahoe.

The Tahoe driver sustained fatal injuries from the accident. He was killed in the crash while his female passenger sustained major injuries.

Two occupants from the Silverado were also seriously hurt. Local authorities suspect that alcohol may have been a factor in the collision.

The California Highway Patrol is further investigating the accident.
