[09-02-2020] Stanislaus County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in a Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident in Modesto

An unidentified 43-year-old male pedestrian was killed after getting struck by a vehicle at an intersection in downtown Modesto on Tuesday night, September 2.

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of 8th and 1 street. The pedestrian was walking across the intersection inside a crosswalk when he was suddenly struck by an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle the hit the man fled the scene. The male pedestrian was later found lying on the roadway by first responders. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Local authorities are currently pursuing the hit-and-run driver. His vehicle was described to be a 1994 to 2004 dark green Chevy pickup truck or GMC pickup truck, with tinted windows and a metal toolbox rack in the back of it.
