[09-21-2020] Tulare County, CA – 3 People Died While Two Others Injured After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in Earlimart

Three people were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Earlimart on Monday, September 21. One of the victims was identified as 26-year-old McFarland resident Paola Montez.

A 2014 Nissan Sentra was driving northbound on Road 160 when it could not stop at the stop sign and crashed into a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. The Toyota Tacoma was initially driving westbound on Avenue 48 before the accident occurred.

The driver of the Nissan Sentra was later identified as 26-year-old Paola Montez. Montez and the two other juvenile occupants of the Sentra were all pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan’s juvenile occupants were not properly restrained at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Tacoma was identified as 48-year-old Delano resident Roberto Barron Vejar. Vejar, along with his passenger, sustained minor injuries from that collision. They were both transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for treatment.

Two-Vehicle Collision Investigation Investigation is Underway

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the collision. Local authorities don’t think that drugs and alcohol played a role in the accident.
