Two people sustained varying degrees of injuries while three other people were killed after a fatal two-vehicle traffic collision in Earlimart on Monday night, September 14.

[09-14-2020] Tulare County, CA - Two-Vehicle Collision in Earlimart Kills Three People and Injures 2According to the California Highway Patrol’s initial reports, the collision occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. in the area of Avenue 48 and Road 160. A 2014 Nissan Sentra was traveling northbound on Road 160 towards Avenue 48 when it suddenly collided with a 2003 Toyota Tacoma heading west.

The Nissan could not stop on the posted stop sign and drove straight into the intersection in front of the Toyota, which was driven by Vejar. The two vehicles then collided head-on. The Nissan then spun out of control on the northwest corner of the intersection while the Toyota stopped on the north shoulder of Avenue 48, just west of Road 160. The Nissan driver, along with her two juvenile passengers, died as a result of the collision. It was determined that her passengers were 4-year-old and 4-months-old.

Meanwhile, two other people were injured. The two injured victims were identified as 48-year-old Roberto Barron and 35-year-old Adelmira Sanchez. They sustained minor injuries from the crash.

Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision Investigation is Underway

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the collision. Local authorities don’t think that drugs and alcohol played a role in the accident.
