[09-03-2020] Ventura County, CA – One Person Injured After a Multi-Vehicle Collision in Telephone Road

At least one person was injured after a multi-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 101 exit in Ventura on Thursday afternoon, September 3.

The accident happened on Highway 101 at Telephone Road oof-ramp at approximately 3:18 p.m. Around six vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2011 Lexus hit several other cars on the ramp as it exited the freeway at Telephone road. The Lexus sideswiped a Toyota RAV4, rear-ended a stopped box truck, rear-ended a stopped Mercedes SUV, and sideswiped a Volkswagen Beetle before rear-ending a stopped Ford F-250 truck. The Lexus then came to rest underneath the F-250 truck.

One of the vehicles had plowed underneath the trailer of a work-type pickup truck due to the collision. One woman sustained significant injuries. She was pulled out of the wreckage and taken to a nearby hospital to be treated. No other injuries were reported. Two lanes of the exit were shut down as emergency personnel worked on the scene.
