[01-29-2023] Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Fairfield Hit & Run CrashA person was seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash in Fairfield on Sunday afternoon, January 29, 2023.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, the crash occurred shortly after 5:00 p.m. along Beck Avenue.

A report from a witness stated that the vehicle driven by 56-year-old Fairfield resident Gary B. veered into the center median and struck the victim walking between the double lines.

The pedestrian, whose identity was not yet released, sustained major injuries while the driver reportedly fled the scene.

On Wednesday afternoon, the driver was located in a fast-food parking lot on Central Place. He was taken into custody on charges of hit-and-run and driving while suspended.
