How Do I File a Police Report Following an Accident

Ensure that law enforcement arrives on the scene and files a report. When interviewed at the location of the accident, tell the truth about what you witnessed and experienced. Be cautious when speaking, and avoid making assumptions about things you don’t understand. When victims are anxious and shocked after an accident, even if they are not at fault, they may apologize profusely.

This act of kindness may be construed as evidence that you admitted guilt to avoid paying out on a claim by the insurance company.
