One person was hospitalized following a fiery semi-truck vs. vehicle collision in Chiriaco Summit, Riverside County, on Wednesday afternoon, February 7, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 4:25 p.m. along the westbound road of Interstate 10.

Authorities said that the collision involved a semi-truck and a small SUV. Although the cause of the crash is still undetermined, it resulted in a fire which the responding firefighters were able to contain.

One of the two drivers was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital, while the other was reportedly uninjured. It is still unclear what vehicle the injured party was occupying prior to the crash.

There were no further details available at the time. CHP is still on the case.
