[02-14-2024] Sacramento County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Big Rig Along Northbound I-5

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a big rig along Interstate 5, Sacramento County, on Wednesday morning, February 14, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:20 a.m. near the W. El Camino Avenue off-ramp.

Authorities stated that the big rig struck the pedestrian, who was only identified as a female at this point of investigation. Paramedics tried to save the life of the victim but then died at the scene. The driver stayed in the area and cooperated with the authorities.

No further information was released. The investigation continues.
