[02-21-2023] One Woman Injured in Car and Bus Collision in ChicoA woman was taken to the hospital following a collision between an SUV and a school bus in Chico on Tuesday morning, February 21, 2022.

The collision took place around 9:40 a.m. at the intersection of Cohasset Road and East Avenue, in front of The Address and across the street from the Pour House.

A student was riding the Chico Unified School District bus. The California Highway Patrol reports that neither the student nor the bus driver sustained any wounds.

The SUV’s female driver was transported to the hospital with minor wounds.

According to the CHP, she suffered injuries both from the collision and from sitting too close to the steering wheel.

The CHP stated that the woman was driving west on East Avenue while the bus was traveling south on Cohasset Road at the time of the collision.

The bus for the Chico Unified School District has front-end damage, and the GMC SUV has damage to the passenger side.

A bus picked up the student.

Cohasset Road’s right turn lane is blocked.

The accident remains under investigation.
