[02-26-2024] Riverside County, CA – 44-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Three Vehicles in Murrieta

A 44-year-old male pedestrian was killed after being struck by three vehicles in Murrieta on Monday night, February 26, 2024.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, the deadly incident occurred at about 7:29 p.m. on Whitewood Road, between Baxter Road and Somers Road.

MPD said that the victim, later identified as Leny G., was on Whitewood Road on a rainy night when he was hit by a vehicle. Moments later, two more vehicles traveling on the southbound lane struck him as well.

The pedestrian was immediately transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar after sustaining fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

The drivers of all three cars immediately stopped to check on the victim. They promptly cooperated with the authorities.

It is still unclear what the victim was doing in the roadway when the accident occurred. MPD believes speeding and driver impairment are not factors in the accident.
