[03-26-2023] One Killed, Another Injured After Single-Car Collision in FontanaA single-vehicle collision claimed one person’s life and injured another in Fontana on March 26, 2023.

The fatal crash reportedly occurred around 10:14 p.m. along Foothill Boulevard and Ilex Street.

According to authorities, two people were inside a silver Ford Focus on the No. 2 lane when the car appeared to lose control and strike the raised center median several times, causing the vehicle to rotate perpendicular to the roadway and become airborne over the center median.

The Focus hit two palm trees and large rocks in the center median before resting on the passenger side.

Due to the impact, the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died from their injuries. Meanwhile, the passenger was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of their next of kin. Further investigations are currently underway.
