[04-01-2023] Ventura County, CA - Single-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 Injured and Hospitalized Two PeopleTwo people were trapped and injured after a single-vehicle crash in Thousand Oaks on Saturday afternoon, April 1, 2023.

As per reports, the collision occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Highway 101, near the Rancho Conejo Boulevard offramp.

Authorities stated that the vehicle trapped two people inside and started a small vegetation fire. Firefighters were called to the scene and pulled two people from the wreckage after putting out a small brush fire.

The patients were taken by ambulance to Los Robles Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The victims’ conditions remain unknown, and their identities have not been released.

As of 3:40 p.m., emergency crews were still working to recover the car. The vehicle, possibly a BMW sedan, was reportedly 100 feet off the road.

Northbound traffic was backed up almost to the junction with Highway 23 at the time, and the roadway had been cleared by 4:15 p.m.
