Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision Statistics

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that 1.35 million Americans lose their lives on American roads every year. These collisions frequently result in the deaths of cyclists, motorcyclists, and pedestrians.

Car crashes rank eighth in the world in terms of fatalities and are primarily to blame for the deaths of children and teenagers.

In the US, there were 1.37 fatalities per 100 kilometers in 2020. As of the first quarter of 2021, there were 18.4% more traffic fatalities than there were at the same time the previous year.

A single-car collision could result from a number of factors. A run-off-the-road accident can occur when a driver speeds up or makes a sudden turn while driving in slick, wet conditions. Branches and other debris falling off trucks may be all over the street.

Wearing a seatbelt, staying focused, and avoiding distractions is essential for driving safely. People still run the risk of getting caught up in these deadly situations despite precautions.

How Do I Submit a Police Report Following an Accident

The police must turn up at the scene of the collision and submit a report. You should respond truthfully if you are asked questions about what happened at the accident scene. Avoid making assumptions about people, places, or things you don’t know much about. In the immediate aftermath of an accident, it is common for victims to apologize profusely, even if they were not at fault. Your act of charity could be used against you by your insurance company if they determine that you were at fault for the accident.
