[04-12-2023] San Bernardino County, CA - Motorcycle vs. Car Collision in Phelan Leaves One Rider Seriously InjuredA young man was severely injured after a collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle in Phelan, San Bernardino County, late Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision between the orange mini dirt bike and the burgundy Dodge Ram pulling a Load Runner trailer occurred at 5:06 p.m. on Eaby Road between Nielson and Trinity Roads.

When emergency responders arrived, they found the bike under the truck and called for an airship. The rider needed to be airlifted to a trauma center. The helicopter landed at the Stater Bros. shopping center and transported him for treatment.

Preliminary reports state that the rider was traveling westbound on Nielson Road. He failed to stop and crossed the pickup truck’s path while it traveled southbound on Eaby Road.

After the impact, the rider was thrown several feet and landed on the driveway of a nearby house. The young man, according to the resident, was in terrible shape.

There was no further information about his condition. CHP is still investigating the crash.
