[04-14-2023] Ventura County, CA – One Killed, One Injured After High-Speed Rollover Crash on 101 Freeway Off-Ramp

One person died, and another was injured in a high-speed rollover crash in Ventura County on Friday morning, April 14, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol in Ventura and Oxnard Police Department, the incident occurred around 12:43 a.m. on the Santa Clara Avenue off-ramp from northbound US-101.

Upon arrival at the scene, the emergency responder found a Mercedes SUV flipped in the middle of the off-ramp. The woman driver was still inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. A male passenger was found outside the car and evaluated for injuries.

According to a witness, the SUV travelled at a speed of over 140 mph before the accident.

The incident is still under investigation.
