What To Do After A Pedestrian Accident

It can be challenging to think clearly after a car accident. On the other hand, what you do and say at the accident scene can significantly impact the outcome of your claim against the responsible party. The following tips may assist you in avoiding a decrease in the value of your personal injury claim:

  • Call the police after the collision and ensure the officer completes an accident report.
  • Photograph your injuries, the accident scene, property damage, the weather, road conditions, and the vehicle that hit you.
  • Take a picture of the driver’s license, insurance card, and license plate of the person at fault.
  • Obtain all eyewitnesses’ names and contact information and anyone else who may have witnessed something.
  • As soon as possible, see a doctor or other healthcare professional and inform them of all affected areas of your body.
  • Keep a record of your injuries and recovery. Describe your feelings, the therapy you are receiving, and your expenses.
  • Consult an experienced lawyer before dealing with an insurance adjuster or accepting a settlement offer.
  • Avoid using social media, and do not discuss your accident or its circumstances.
  • Contact an experienced pedestrian accident lawyer as soon as possible to discuss your case.
