Motorcycle Accident Statistics

According to the National Safety Council, motorcycles contributed significantly to road fatalities, occupant deaths, and occupant injuries in 2020. Helmets could have prevented some of these injuries.

For every 100,000,000 kilometers traveled, transportation deaths increased by 23% in 2020 compared with 2019.

Motorcyclists in California suffer disproportionately high road fatalities, with reckless driving accounting for only 6%. While motorcycles can help navigate roadways quickly, studies suggest returning to motorcycling after an accident is more challenging than driving a car.
