[09-10-2022] The Fatal Death of a Woman Following a Pedestrian Crash in NipomoA woman was struck and died after a fatal pedestrian crash involving a vehicle in Nipomo on Saturday night, September 10, 2022.

The collision happened in the northbound lanes south of Tefft Street just before 7 p.m.

According to CHP investigators, the woman attempted to cross the highway’s northbound lanes.

According to a CHP press release, a Santa Monica, California, Toyota Prius driver, 21, was traveling northbound on the highway at about 70 mph when the car in front of him veered to the right.

The Prius driver attempted to swerve to the left after spotting the pedestrian in front of him.

According to the local authorities, the Toyota’s right front corner struck the pedestrian as they both ran westward toward the median.

The pedestrian has not been identified; his name has not been made public.

No arrest was made for the driver.
