Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Thousands of lives are lost due to single-vehicle collisions every year in California.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 62% of fatal collisions in the Golden State involve only one car. Because of all the hazards on California’s roads, drivers must always be on the lookout.

Many factors can play a role in single-car collisions. A runaway car or an off-road crash are both possible outcomes of reckless driving on a slippery road. It’s possible that a large branch or other pieces of debris equivalent to a truckload washed up on the roadside. That may make things even more dangerous for drivers.

Your ability to recover damages following a single-vehicle accident may be severely limited by the coverage plan of your insurance policy, even if another driver’s negligence was the cause of the accident.

Siskiyou County Car Accident Lawyers

Even if it doesn’t result in actual physical harm, reckless driving is still wrong. If a negligent driver was responsible for your death, you may be able to file a claim against their insurance company.

It can be emotionally draining to have to testify in a deposition or trial and rehash past hurts and losses in front of a large audience. People’s minds can be preoccupied with legal matters.

If the other driver apologizes and the victim is still unsatisfied, legal action should be taken immediately. Those responsible for the deaths of several people as a result of someone else’s negligence must be held accountable for their actions. A family should file a lawsuit for wrongful death, even if it causes emotional distress. This will have a profound effect on how people in California get around on the road.
