[10-04-2022] 17-Year-Old Fremont Driver Injured in High-Speed Two-Vehicle Crash on Blacow RoadAccording to the Fremont police, a 17-year-old boy was injured in a crash while racing with another car on Blacow Road in Fremont Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

According to authorities, the crash occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. as the teen was racing another vehicle at high speed, he headed south on Blacow Road between Eggers and Brophy drives.

A news release from the police says that the boy lost control of the car, which went to the right, jumped a raised curb, and crashed into a tree.

The boy was the only person in the car. Firefighters had to get him out, and he was hurt pretty badly.

Police say that the damage to the passenger side was so bad that anyone sitting there would not have survived the crash.

Several nearby surveillance cameras caught the crash and the events that led up to it.

“Reckless speeding and aggressive driving can cause you to lose control of your vehicle and make a crash worse, which can cause serious injuries or even death,” police said in a statement.

The cause of the crash is still being looked into.
