[10-06-2[10-06-2022] Woman Dead, Another Severely Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 132 near Vernalis022] Woman Dead, Another Severely Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 132 near VernalisAccording to the California Highway Patrol, a 63-year-old woman died, and another driver suffered major injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 132 near Vernalis Thursday, October 6, 2022.

According to the CHP, the crash occurred Thursday night, east of Vernalis, on northbound McCracken Road at Highway 132.

Police say that 63-year-old Kathryn P. ran a stop sign on northbound McCracken Road at Highway 132.

A Nissan Frontier traveling west on 132 without a stop sign was side-swiped by Pearce’s Toyota Prius.

Southern California native Pearce was pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP says she wasn’t even wearing a seatbelt.

Dilpreet T., 23, from Manteca, was driving the Nissan and was seriously injured in the collision. She was flown to Modesto’s Memorial Medical Center in a chopper.
