[10-10-2022] Monterey County, CA – Two Person Killed Head-On Two-Vehicle on Maher Road in Prunedale

According to the California Highway Patrol Monterey, two people were killed after a deadly two-vehicle crash on Maher Road in Prunedale Monday morning, October 10, 2022.

According to CHP, the crash transpired at 5:10 a.m. on Maher Road in Prunedale.

Two SUVs collided on Maher Road, a 2012 Ford Explorer was heading west, and the other, a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder heading east.

The police report that a Ford Explorer’s driver went over a painted median and crashed head-on into a Nissan Pathfinder, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

According to the CHP, both the Nissan Pathfinder’s driver and passenger died at the scene.

According to the police, the Pathfinder passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

There was a 68-year-old male driver and a 63-year-old female passenger. The two victims both hailed from Watsonville.

Leslie F., 20, of Watsonville, was the one behind the wheel of the Explorer, according to the CHP. She was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment of her wounds.

The investigation into the crash’s cause continues.
