[11-07-2023] Woman Hospitalized Following Vehicle Collision in Palm SpringsA woman was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Palm Springs on Tuesday night, November 7, 2023.

According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the incident occurred just after 7:00 p.m. on East Palm Canyon Drive, east of Araby Drive.

Reports say a vehicle was westbound on the drive while others were braking and swerving during heavy traffic before slowing down. The unidentified pedestrian was struck by the vehicle that failed to stop when the woman allegedly ran in front of it.

The victim was found on the roadway suffering from head injuries and was shortly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Initial reports did not show other visible injuries with the other people involved.

The roadway was closed for several hours while an investigation was ongoing. It was later found that the driver was neither driving under the influence nor at fault.

There have been no further details released regarding the cause of the crash.
