It has been proven that a helmet can prevent fatal collisions and protect wearers from injury. According to the IIHS, wearing a helmet lowers the risk of brain injuries and motorcycle fatalities by 37% and 67%, respectively.

Wearing protective clothing, such as gloves, jackets, pants, and shoes, is also advised to lessen your risk of injury while operating a motorcycle.

Motorcyclists are also urged to be aware of collision traps, and escape routes, since cars often fail to notice them. Make sure you ride within your skill level and situational limitations.
