A 14-year-old schoolboy was injured following a pedestrian crash in central Fresno on Thursday morning, December 2, 2021.

[12-02-2021] Fresno County, CA - Schoolboy Injured After a Pedestrian Crash at Ashalan and Thorne AvenuesAccording to the initial reports from the California Highway Patrol, the accident transpired at approximately 8:00 a.m. in a crosswalk at Ashlan and Thorne Avenues.

The young boy was walking to school when he was suddenly struck by a passing vehicle. It’s unclear why the driver was unable to avoid the boy.

The boy sustained moderate injuries in the crash. He was immediately taken to an area hospital to receive treatment.

The driver that struck the boy remained at the scene and willingly cooperated with authorities. He was uninjured in the crash.

Local authorities are further investigating the cause of the accident. They will attempt to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the case.
