[12-04-2022] Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Amtrak Train in BakersfieldA pedestrian was killed after being struck by an Amtrak train in Bakersfield on Sunday night, December 04, 2022.

According to Amtrak, the fatal crash occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Coffee Frontage Road east of Coffee Road.

Train 714 was the one that struck the trespasser on the tracks. Fortunately, no one on the train was injured.

The victim sustained severe injuries and was declared dead on the spot. They were not recognized right away.

The ensuing investigation caused a two-hour delay for the train.
