[12-24-2022] Sacramento County, CA – Bicyclist Killed in North Sacramento Christmas Eve Car Crash

Authorities reported that a bicyclist was killed following a vehicle collision in Sacramento on early Saturday evening, December 24, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Auburn Boulevard south of Madison Avenue in North Sacramento.

The bicycle rider was struck by an SUV in an area that was reported to be heavily traveled for bicyclists and pedestrians.

Due to the deadly crash, the nearby roads were closed, but CHP reported that they reopened roughly an hour afterward.

CHP officials said the crash was not thought to have been caused by either alcohol or drugs as their investigation continued.
