[08-31-2020] Riverside County, CA – Motorcycle Crash in Lake Elsinore Kills One Man

A fatal motorcycle accident in Lake Elsinore resulted in a 57-year-old Laguna Niguel man’s death on Sunday morning, August 31.

The accident took place on Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore at around 8:47 a.m. The Laguna Niguel man was riding a 2005 Buell motorcycle eastbound at 50-55 mph, just east of the Lookout. The motorcyclist then went over the Ortega Highway’s double-yellow lines on a sweeping curve and struck the front of an oncoming 2016 Nissan Frontier pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck attempted to avoid the motorcyclist but failed. The two vehicles then collided head-on. The rider was ejected from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway due to the severity of the impact. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries from the crash.
