[01-08-2024] Riverside County, CA – 21-Year-Old Rider Seriously Injured After Multi-Vehicle Crash Along I-15 in Lake Elsinore

A 21-year-old rider was seriously injured after a multi-vehicle crash in Lake Elsinore early Monday afternoon, January 8, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at about 1:30 p.m. along Interstate 15 north of Railroad Canyon Road.

The rider was reportedly heading north on his BMW S1000 bike, speeding at about 100–115 mph. At the same time, a Hyundai Elantra was in the #1 lane when it got rear-ended by the rider.

The 21-year-old flew from his BMW right into the backend of a Chevrolet Equinox SUV while the motorcycle struck a Toyota Tacoma before landing in the center median and catching fire.

The rider suffered major injuries and was taken to Wildomar’s Inland Valley Hospital. It is currently unclear how many people were involved or if any others were visibly injured.

Further details on the crash have yet to be released by the authorities.
